Restore your X3's front end suspension to factory condition

If your X3's front suspension is making knocking sounds due to worn control arm bushings and ball joints chances are you have lost quite a bit of handling. Control arm bushings commonly wear out allowing for the control arms to move independently. In addition, ball joints can develop play due to high mileage.

When control arms and suspension pieces wear out you have the option to replace them as they wear or simply replace them all in one shot. This kit has been designed to address all the wear items of your BMW's front suspension in one sitting.

Suspension Control Arm Kit

Control arms are crucial link in a vehicle's suspension connecting the suspension to a vehicle's subframe. These pieces are usually hinged to allow for suspension to travel and articulate as the vehicle rides over obstructions in the road and while the vehicle turns. Many vehicles such as those with independent suspensions have multiple links and feature several connection points and arms to offer better ride quality and comfort.

As bushings and joints in a control arm begin to wear you may notice a looseness feel in your suspension. And while many arms have replaceable and serviceable individual components, many still require the replacement of the entire arm. Below are signs of when a replacement control arm may be needed.

Lemforder Quality
Lemforder used to be our go to OEM parts replacement. Now it's just Chinese garbage. The ball joints don't even come with grease. Yes, BMW parts are more expensive but you won't be replacing them again in 10,000 miles. It's a sad decline of a once great company.

Pretty Good
Pro: The parts in this kit seem well built and price is reasonable. Cons: Unfortunately the kit does not come with the replacement bolts and nuts required. The FCP how to video even states that they need to be replaced. Two of the control arms have an improper website descriptions. Both say that they are made in Germany but one was actually made in Malaysia and the other was actually made in Poland. I would recommend this kit but I wish it came with the required nuts and bolts and had an updated "made in" description.

Poor quality china quality.
2008 BMW X3 Replaced entire suspension arms ang less than 15k the suspension started to clunk very badly, the tires started to wear out , Don't buy Lemforder aftermarket control arms or bushing, Buy only original Genuine BMW parts. I ended replacing entire control arms again with Original bmw arms including tires. 30k so far on suspension no issues or tire wear.

Suspension Refresh
Just installed this kit myself. This has been a fantastic improvement on how my 2006 X3 handles. I only have 75k miles on the clock, but I could feel lots of play and a solid clunk any time I'd go over bumps. Now that the suspension has been replaced, everything feels so much tighter and controlled. Like a brand new car! Very pleased with this purchase.
