Let's face it, brakes pads hands down are the most important components of our vehicle. Our brake pads allow us to stop our vehicles with a simple push of a brake pedal. Unfortunately they don't last forever and are considered to be a major wear item which must be replaced before they completely wear out and damage the brake rotor costing you more in repairs. Akebono EUR681 - very tight fit, less "bite" than Texta
Installed onto the front of my 2005 X5 along with Zimmermann rotor. Very tight fit, barely slide into Zimmermann rotor, not a perfect fit comparing to Textar pad. After 50 miles, still noticeably has less "bite" than Textar pads. A review indicates "bite" improved after 500 miles and I'd surely hope so! If "bite" does not improve after 500 miles, I plan to remove Akebono and put in Textar pad.

Good Grip, Moderate Dust
Installed these onto the front of my E39 540i along with Zimmerman rotors. Installation was straightforward and they fit properly. Grip is good, and brake dust is fairly low, although, after a track day, there was a lot more dust produced compared to normal driving situations. Positively, there was essentially zero fade even after several hard laps. Overall happy with these.

this is a very tight fit, had to remove the shims to barely slide this unto Meyle HD rotors that has been on the E53 3.0 since 2017. not exactly a perfect fit like a Wagner Thermoquiet ceramic. Believe it or not. My experience may be different than yours but this is where I am. good luck people.

2005 BMW X5 4.4
I purchased these pads with Zimmermann rotors and BMW brake pad wear sensors for my 2005 BMW X5 4.4. It has been 2 weeks since I've installed them and I have had zero brake squeal and very minimal brake dust. I thoroughly cleaned all metal brake components with a wire brush and brake cleaner. I also applied Mission Automotive Silicone Paste to the front, backs, tops, and bottoms of the brake pad ears, backs of the brake pads, and guide pins. After installing, I bedded in the pads and rotors by doing 60mph down to 10mph 5 times in a row. Overall I'm satisfied with these brake pads and will purchase again in the future. I hope this review helps someone.

Great pads no dust!
Wish I'd bought these pads ages ago....there is no dust!! I drive quite briskly as a rule and they stop me every time. Highly recommend.

Followup on earlier review
I now have 40,000 miles on these pads. I have abused them, enjoyed them, and a few times smelled them :-) The wear sensors haven't tripped yet, but I can feel it's getting close. Overall, extremely happy with the performance, longevity, and lack of dust over the last 3 years and will be replacing them with exact same!

Akebono Euro Ceramic Brake Pads
Akebono euro ceramic brake pads are the solution for the dreaded e39 rear brake pad rattle. I just removed a newer set of Hawk HPS pads because they rattled whenever i hit bumps. These pads stop better and dont make a sound. It appears that the metal prongs that secure the pad in the brake cylinder are much more robust than on other pads.

No dust, No squeals, No problems!
Unknown prior brand brakes installed by PO. I was cleaning my wheels every week and getting really tired of it, but they gripped hard. I switched to Akebono mainly to cut down the dust, but still wanted good performance. At the same time, I switched to Zimmerman rotors too. With over 750 miles now on them, I have not cleaned my wheels ONCE! Amazing difference. Like others have reported, the new pads seemed softer on grip, however, at about the 500 mile mark they started grabbing better and better. At this point I don't feel much, if any, difference between old and new pads. I am extremely satisfied with no noise what so ever, no dust, and very good street performance.

Essentially brake dust free! Initially not quite as aggressive a bite , but effectiveness improved to normal after wearing in. Smooth, quiet, effective, dustless.

Great pads! Some people say the stopping has less bite than the oem. That may be true but I honestly can't tell the difference. And I am highly looking forward to limited dust. One note: the pads come with MolyLube antisqueal and a nice note stating use of anything else will null warranty. Not sure how fcpeuro would handle that but I am sure they would!

Stop Great....Almost Zero Dust
Had read on various boards that these had less initial bite than the BMW oem pads.....some reviewers said 'dramatically less initial bite' so I was a little hesitant to try. But....weekly cleaning of the brake dust from oem pads was getting really old after 13 years driving BMW's. Honestly, can't say I have noticed any real change in initial bite or stopping power in general versus oem...which is a good thing...but, brake dust is virtually non-existant. Wish I had been using these all along!! My wheels look clean all the time now....car gets dirtier much faster than the wheels. Amazing! Also, dead silent operation......
