Product Information

324x30mm, Z coated replacement brake rotor

If you are experiencing pulsating through the brake pedal, grinding sounds, or there is a lip on your rotors it is likely time to replace them. When replacing brake rotors it is imperative to replace them in matched pairs for the best performance and service life of your braking system.

Disc Brake Rotor

Sold Individually

Commonly referred to as a Brake Disc or a Brake Rotor, these components play a vital role in your braking system. When applying the brake pedal, this produces hydraulic fluid pressure which then transfers the pressure from the pedal through your braking system and into your brake calipers. The caliper pistons then apply pressure against your brake pads squeezing them inward against your brake rotors ultimately causing friction and stopping the vehicle. Brake rotors are a regular maintenance item which requires either servicing by means of machine work, or most commonly replacement when they become too thin, pulsate, glaze, or grind from worn-out brake pads. It's recommended to replace the brake pads and rotors at the same time.

Disc Brake Rotor Failure Symptoms
  • Pulsating
  • Grinding
  • Squeaking
  • Glazing
  • Hot spots
  • A noticeable lip on the rotors outer edge

Poor quality
I own a 2003 525i And 2001 525i I don't know is just my luck I guess the front rotors wrapped after 15k regarding the 2001 and on my 2003 The rotors wrapped at 10k I went at the dealer purchased Original rotors for both my cars so far 28k on them not even rust or vibration. I know fcp offers lifetime warranty but not worth tearing your car apart for short periods of time. You better get Genuine part like I do save yourself a headache fcp offers Genuine BMW parts as well.

High Quality, Good Functionality
Good quality rotors. Like the coating that comes on them upon arrival; helps protect and keep them from rusting. Fit and finish were perfect, and helped rejuvenate the brakes on my E39 540. Have used during a couple track days, and they've been great; no fading, warping or anything odd. Impressed.

The coating helps keep the rotor looking good
Great quality product (equal to or better than the Brembo equiv). The whole rotor has a rust preventative coating on it. No need to wipe it off the brake surfaces as it will quickly burn off after a few stops (or during the pad bedding process). The coating that remains protects the surfaces from rust. The discs maintain a silver like finish. I always recommend that you first clean then coat the hub surfaces with anti-seize (nickel or copper based) before installing the new rotors onto them (same on the wheel hubs too). This make future removal straightforward.

Are these coated? (What I mean is, are they going to get rusty?)

Question Posted by Roy
Hello, Does this list the quantity as 1 brake disc or 1 set of 2 brake discs? I've had a double order in the past because of this very issue. Can you please verify? Thanks, Roy
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
Brake rotors are always sold and priced each (individually) unless part of a brake kit.
