Pads are noisy, gurgling noises are coming from the wheels when braking.
These pads are great for regular street use: they have a good bite, don't make any noise and very limited dust, if any at all.
However, during a spirited mountain drive, I had some fade and the pads were smoking and smelling. Yes, I was driving hard, so I'm not blaming the pads, but just be aware that they won't be suitable for track use. I never had this kind of fade with the previous pads as - even when driving hard - I don't usually overheat the brakes as I have a light, manual car.
On the good side, even after starting to fade, they still slowed down the car and I could complete the downhill run. They went back to normal after cooling them down, which is also a plus.

Pads installed easily with no complication. Paired with EBC USR slotted rotors and they work great. With the stock pads, my wheels would be covered in brake dust after one drive. A week later, almost no brake dust on the wheels still. Highly recommend!
Replaced a set of squeaky and extremely dusty Textar pads on a 2005 M3. Pads still had plenty of life too! Akebono pads fit perfect, nice bite and absolutely ZERO dust. Akebono's are the best.
Best brake pads on the world, I have it with zimmermann rotors, no pad dust, no squeaking, stopping is excellent. I will always go with akebono.

This is one set of pads (includes 4 brake pads as pictured). Four pads in a set is standard and will service both the left and right side calipers on the rear axle.
