A basic water pump and thermostat kit to properly service a small piece of your S54 powered BMW's cooling system

This basic cooling system service kit comes with the basics you will need to service your BMW's cooling system. Your BMW's cooling system is comprised of numerous individual pieces. The two most likely pieces you will want to maintain to keep your system flowing coolant, literally, is the water pump and thermostat assembly.

Engine Water Pump Kit

An engine water pump is a crucial component of a vehicle's cooling system. It circulates coolant (a mix of antifreeze and water) from the radiator through the engine and back to the radiator to prevent the engine from overheating. The pump is typically driven by the engine via a belt, chain, or gear. A water pump's key functions are to maintain a consistent flow of coolant through the engine block, cylinder heads, and radiator and regulate engine temperature to prevent overheating or freezing in extreme conditions.

M3 waterpump
Waterpump came with small dents/imperfections on the sealing surface. Gasket was broken in 3 spots and lower radiator hose did not fit. I think part of the issue was the geba water pump box had no packing materiel to keep it safe, the box was super beat up and I could see where the pump was thrown around inside of it. That being said after siding some gasket sealer it’s working well but I’d recommend getting oem.

So far so good but the pump needed some filing
Just installed everything this weekend. So far everything seems good. I did run into an issue where the pulley was rubbing against the new water pump, causing it to bind up. Luckily I caught this during install and after a few hours and some swearing I figured out the casting of the pump wasn't perfect, I had to file down the bottom of the pump in order to get the pulley to clear. Aside from that I had no issues during install.
