A failed HPFP can cause your car to go into limp mode or in extreme cases will leave you stranded on the side of the road. Direct Injection High Pressure Fuel Pump

A direct injection high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) is a critical component in modern gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines. Unlike traditional fuel pumps, it boosts fuel pressure to extremely high levels (often over 2,000 psi) so fuel can be directly injected into the combustion chamber. This enables better fuel atomization, improved efficiency, and higher power output. The HPFP is typically driven by the camshaft and works in tandem with a low-pressure fuel pump. Over time, wear, contamination, or internal failure can lead to drivability issues.

Direct Injection High Pressure Fuel Pump Failure Symptoms
  • Engine performance problems – hard starting, hesitation, misfires, or loss of power under load.
  • Fuel-related issues – check engine light, lean/rich codes, or reduced fuel economy.
  • Noises or leaks – ticking/whining sounds from the pump or visible fuel leakage at the pump area.

One year since purchasing. Had 2 injectors and this HPFP go bad last summer. Shop installed it for me. Hoping to never need a new one.

this company is a joke
I highly recommend not ordering this part at all. Save your money and time and just go to ECSTuning.com or TurnerMotorsports.com. I ordered this part March 13th and paid the extra 15$ to have it shipped on the 20th.... it is now the 21st and there have been nothing for new updates. Also was supposed to get a refund for $14.99 for the shipping and they told me my bank was declining it. Not true at all... Also was looking to have my money refunded for the item and they told me it was too late the item is "in processing". It has been "in processing" for 9 days now without any new updates on the shipping... please do not waste your time or give yourself a headache trying to communicate with these fools... The shipping is very inaccurate and misleading, and they don't know anything about the vendors they ship your parts from.

Ordered This Hpfp on March 13th and it has been processing for 6 days. Still haven't received any updates on it. Never had a part come this slow ever in my life. might have to cancel if it does not arrive in the next 2 days.

Highway robbery for a nasty, expendable, failure-prone part like this. My E92 335i is only worth $5000 and I have to spend well over $1000 for a new fuel pump that requires the entire intake-side of the engine to be stripped off to reach it? Disgusting! At least the engine runs again (for now). Note that an upgraded low-pressure fuel sensor and associated fuel line (BMW-13537622751) must be installed together with the pump to avert another big repair bill.

An aftermarket pump is not automatically guaranteed to qualify for full core credit. Core returns must correspond to the original purchased item and are subject to inspection/verification, so for an aftermarket or non-OE pump we recommend contacting service@fcpeuro.com with your order number and photos/part markings before sending it in. Our listing shows this pump has a $400 core charge, which is refunded only after an approved core return.

Typically you would be looking at around 10-14 days to receive in Madrid, based on other shipments we have sent there. It would all depend on how quickly the shipment will clear customs in Spain. It could be longer.

This part # is a Genuine BMW part made in Germany. It is unlikely BMW will provide the exact specifications of the pressure limits of HPFP accordingly.
