WARNING: Proposition 65 informationLet's face it, brakes pads hands down are the most important components of our vehicle. Our brake pads allow us to stop our vehicles with a simple push of a brake pedal. Unfortunately they don't last forever and are considered to be a major wear item which must be replaced before they completely wear out and damage the brake rotor costing you more in repairs. Brake pads can be made of several materials such as a semi-metallic compound, ceramic compound, or organic. Brake pads are suggested to be checked frequently during oil changes or routine services for wear to ensure you have at least the minimum pad thickness as stated by the car manufacturer.
Disc Brake Pad Set Failure Symptoms- Pulsating
- Grinding
- Squeaking
- Rotor Glazing
- Rotor Hot spots
- A noticeable lip on the rotors outer edge.

Disappointed in these pads. They have been extremely noisy after about 1 month, during slow speed braking. Parking lot backing up and slowing down - squeal. Pulling up to a light, last 15 feet - squeal. These have been properly bedded in on brand new EBC rotors. No need for all this noise on a non-track pad.
Perfect replacement and love the brand for limited dust on wheels. No noise either.
Fit as expected. Minimal dust on wheels based on preliminary observations (4 weeks).
Awesome! Right on time…did the job well!!!
Suitable for 2015 BMW X5, no problem.
Dust free, and very good feel. Highly recommend!
My second time using these pads, little to no dust. Will always continue using them. Thanks FCP!
Easy install - Great fit - Awesome performance!
They fit great, paired with Zimmerman rotors they’re a great match.
Maintaining 3 cars in two states, North East and South East, its great to have the lifetime warranty from FCP. As a long term customer these are being replaced under that warranty and the rotors are a new replacement on X5 35i. Great product.

Question
Posted by a customer
I'm trying to replace all the rear brake pads...The item states brake pad sets... do I buy 1 item to replace all rear brake pads or do I buy 2 items???
Answer
(Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
This is a rear brake pad set for the vehicles listed in the fitment guide. Only one (1) set is needed to be ordered. There are two (2) brake pads per side accordingly.
Question
Posted by Paul
Does this set come with brake shims? Akebono’s website now states that most brake pad sets come with “301 stainless steel hardware “ I assume that means shims & are they included ?
Answer
(Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
No, this brake pad set does not include/need shims. There is an anti-squeal backing plate installed on the pad from the factory but the applications ion question do not need/use shims. The description from Akebono sounds like a general description where applicable.
