Product Information

It's time for brake service if your BMW's steering wheel shakes while braking or the light is illuminated on your dash indicating your brake pads are too thin. There are numerous critical parts of your BMW's brake system. The two main wear items are the brake pads and the brake rotors. By their very nature, they are intended to wear out.

Brake rotors can wear out in several ways. The most common reason for replacing brake rotors is because they are "warped". Warped brake rotors are another way of saying that there are uneven deposits on the rotor surface from the brake pads. This can cause the steering wheel to shimmy while braking. Rotors can be machined to remove the deposits but this is usually counterproductive and it's often safer and easier to just replace the rotors. Once brake rotors reach their minimum specified thickness they must be replaced.

Brake pads are the friction material that allows for braking, to begin with. They are softer than the brake rotor surface and tend to wear quicker. The brake pad wear sensor attached to the brake rotor will be tripped when the pad becomes too thin and illuminate a light on your dash letting you know that brake service is required.

A lot cheaper than dealer
Parts installed easily, virtually no brake dust. Only complaint is front pads do not stop like the ones I took off, may have to buy different pads for front, otherwise, $1500 cheaper than dealer

Just about fantastic
I'll keep this short. These brakes fit perfectly, were easy to break in and have reliably served me so far. The Akebono pads throw off about a quarter the amount of dust of my old pads and the rotors don't corrode at all. Unless you wanted to upgrade your stock brakes to performance brands, this is where its at. Car is a 2009 335i

Great replacement for my worn out rotors & pads. Should replace once a lip begins to form on the rotor. Love the warranty as well.

Perfect Part and Fit for my e90 335i
Completed the DIY brake rotor/pad replacement after watching youtube videos from FCPERUO. I can't complain too much about the Zimmerman rotors and it was a perfect fit fro both front and rears. As for Akenbono Ceramic Pads, they felt a bit soft after the initial replacement. After completing a brake bleed as well as a bedding procedure, it's almost back to normal feel as i had with old stock pads. Akebono doesn't require bedding but says to drive lightly for 500 miles. I haven't done that yet, so i'm hoping it gets back to normal feel in about 450 more miles.

Fair price but with that comes fair quality
These brakes brake fairly well. They're nothing anything crazy, just basic brakes. If you're looking for more stopping power these are probably not your route.

This brake kit contains ceramic brake pads which are a harder compound than the original brake pads. The benefit is that they last longer and create less brake dust, but they do increase stopping distances.
