About Volvo V90
The Volvo V90 is a 5 door station wagon that was sold by Volvo in some markets for the 1997 and 1998 model years. V90 was the new name assigned to the 960 wagon for these years. Other than the name plate, these cars are mechanically and visually the same as the 960 model that was produced for years previously. This change occurred in order to make the cars fit in with the new numbers and letters naming method that was now being used on the other new Volvo models rather than the old three number name system that was in use since the 1960s. Just because the name had changed does not mean the quality of the Volvo V90 parts were anything less than the excellence that previous Volvos had been known for. This was still your typical long lasting, durable, safe Volvo that it always was now just hiding behind a new name. The model continued production unchanged as the last two years of rear wheel drive Volvos ever made before the series was discontinued in favor of the new front wheel drive models which were coming out at that time.
