2.0 tsi in a 2010 GTI
Does not have oil pump chain tensioner, so it loses 2 stars because it does not have everything you need to do the job right ! Otherwise stellar parts , everything else was perfect

Five stars but a little feedback
To echo a previous reviewer's comment, excellent job on the kit, but a couple of things that would be handy to have included by default. Firstly, the oil seals for the cam carrier and position sensor where it passes through the upper timing cover always leak so it would be good to include those since there's no way to avoid removing those, and the kit already includes the upper cover gasket anyway... Second, a new crank pulley bolt would be good too, since it's torque-to-yield/one use only, so having one of those included would save, as Robert says in the other review, a mad panic finding a VAG dealer on a Saturday so you can pay triple the price of FCP Euro for the bolt.

Maybe all you need to complete the job
Just completed the timing chain service on my 2011 Tiguan. The timing chain kit had just about everything you need to complete the job. The only suggestions I have would be to do the following: -order a new dipstick tube seal. Can't hurt to replace it while you are down there. -be careful with the oil pump chain tensioner. It does not come with the kit. If you somehow break it, like I did, you'll spend the afternoon trying to track one down at the VW or Audi dealership. If you want to be safe, order one from FCP, the dealership charges a fortune! It's worth the piece of mind to do this job.

I am thinking about purchasing this kit. Kind of a simple question. Is there a reason the timing chain is Febi, but the balance chain is Genuine VW? Is it a quality issue with Febi chains as opposed to Genuine VW for this chain? I would have thought that this would come with Febi for both chains.

It looks like the Febi was recently added after the kit was created, but I went ahead and swapped the Febi in for the Genuine.
