Non-asbestos organic (NAO) brake pads consist of organic fibers that are used to reinforce the friction materials and provide strength to the brake pad. NAO friction material contains less than 30% steel by weight. NAO brake pads were designed to replace harmful asbestos linings and were popular on pre-FWD vehicles. Typically, these were larger vehicles that shared a more even braking between the front and rear brakes.

TRW Ultra also features CITEC coating to provide additional stopping performance during the break-in period, and shims that are designed per the OE configuration. A siliramic lubrication packet is included in the box to further aid in installation.

Most Standard Zimmermann brake rotors are equivalent-quality spare parts, as defined by motor vehicle block exemption regulation KFZ-GVO (EU) no. 330/2010, which are on a par with the respective original parts first fitted. Brake rotors in our standard range of wearing parts are manufactured in dimensions and to a material quality specified by the automotive manufacturers. Since 2008 Zimmermann is offering Brake Rotors in a coated version named "Coat Z – anti corrosion". Herewith we follow the demand for a more attractive visual appearance.

Nice kit, one small complaint.
The VW OE guide pin bolts take a 13mm socket but the new bolts that come with the TRW pads use a 14mm socket. No big deal, just a little odd. Other than that, great kit, super fast shipping, I really like doing business with FCP Euro, they are first rate. FYI, torquing the carrier bolts to 200nm is a bitch when you are laying on your back under the car, I had to use a floor jack to get to 200nm. Then again, I'm old and weak. Have fun wrenchin'.
