  • If your 98 model does NOT have a distributor cap and rotor, then this will NOT work on your car. If it does have a cap and rotor, then this is the kit
  • Volvo requires new water pump bolts because they come with new thread sealant pre-applied. Thread sealant helps prevent leaks, as the water pump bolts thread into the water jacket in this application. The bolts can be reused if new thread sealant is applied. An appropriate coolant safe thread sealant can be found here: Permatex Thread Sealant

Perfect
Great fit on all parts, I did experience a leak from the new water pump gasket that ended up sealing itself after some heat. Have used this kit in the past and will use again

Perfect kit
This is the kit you need if you want to know your car is safe from timing failure. It is the same stuff your car came with when new. No fitment issues. Everything is here that you need. Torque waterpump bolts to 15 ft/lbs.

Found my timing was off to start
I had a mechanical and idler pulley will save the new tensioner belt and hydrlic for the next change found it was up to date.

Direct Fit
The kit contained all of the parts that my 94 850 needed. Belts are super high quality and much better looking than the belts I removed from the car!

Great kit overall
This is a great kit, and it includes everything you'd need. I'm only giving it a four because mine came with two timing belt stickers when I only needed one.

Great kit with good parts
No issues with the parts in the kit. Good quality, fit and performance. Only issue is with Volvo design for the timing belt tensioner and removal via a Torx bolt that is easily stripped.

Yes, I didn't fully read the description and check the engine number. Of course, just my luck, it wasn't the kit for my car. I did use the water pump, serpentine belt and idler pulley and am returning the rest. The parts were of better quality than the ones carried by the local stores and I don't expect I'll have to replace them again. I do like the concept of the kit containing all the parts to do the job and will be looking for those in the future as needed.

Looks like this will fit models with a serial numbers from 148582- & up. You can find this number listed on your timing cover.
