Volvo Serpentine Belt (V70 S70 850 C70) - Contitech

One of the most common components to wear out over time and fail is your belts. Be confident when replacing this belt as it's Conti Tech which is the OEM supplier for Volvo. This means that the belt your replacing is made by Conti for Volvo.

Note: This is a new style belt, some early Volvo 850 models came with a shorter belt (1623mm or 1638mm). The belt should be replaced with this longer belt to create more surface contact on the alternator pulley.

Perfect Volvo 850

Fits great on my Volvo 850. It's nice and tight, and works just like it should. It looked and felt like a quality belt. I'll be buying another one about 60K down the road.

I've used a number of these on two Volvos over the past 16 years changing at each timing belt interval. I've never had a problem with them.

Great Continental belt at a great price! Best to buy a spare to keep in the vehicle just in case. Also, don't forget to make a sketch of the belts routing to facilitate easy installation.

Be Sure To Check Your Tensioner And Idler Bearings

Continental makes good belts. This is the new length belt that provides added contact to the alternator pulley. The belt routing is different from the original belt, which barely had any alternator contact. Take your time and study the diagram in your Haynes manual carefully when you're rerouting the belt. You'll swear it's too long or too short, but it will fit perfectly when you get everything routed correctly. Also be sure to check your idler and tensioner bearings while you have the system apart. I recommend replacing them when you change the belt if they've got over 75K on them. The serpentine system is less critical than a timing belt and tensioners, but it would still suck to be stranded because for want of a $30 part.

Some of the reviewers above may have been rewarded for their positive & negative reviews. We don't hold anything back.
