Prevents hydro tappet noise. Lubrication holes and ducts in the oil circuit are cleaned. Secures optimal hydro tappet performance. Increases the reliability and travel comfort of the vehicle.

Works well on LS motors too
So of course, I use this on M50 / M52 etc etc. But I found that it also quiets up infamous hydraulic lifter ticks in the GM / Chevy LS platform. For me specifically, it helped quiet up a 5.3L Vortec with 380,000 miles. I used it in tandem with Ceratec and had good results. Of course, the BMW Motors love it too; I just wanted to touch on how it's good for other platforms as well.

Took about a year, but actually seems to help
I had a pretty bad tick especially in cold weather from the upper valve train on my N52. Took about a whole year, but on average, the ticking seems to occur significantly less. Really need to get the engine RPMs up over time and break the deposits free from the valve train fluid passages.

Fixed my lifter tick on my E36 M3
My S52 E36 M3 was ticking after hard AutoX runs. I added half a bottle of this in, and no more ticks.

Hydraulic Lifter Additive
Took my lifter tick away instantly after I drained old oil hot at optimal temp, changed oil & filter, added lifter additive first before my Liqui Moly 5w-40 High Tech oil, then drove around city then freeway and when back in my garage in winter weather when it shows up ticking, the noise didn't just get quieter, but completely went away. Purrs like a kitten!!! It really works, recommend using back-to-back oil changes from late fall to late spring.

With my 95’ M s50 it worked as intended. Hydraulic lifters tend with high mileage tend to get noisy especially if vehicle sits for a prolonged period of time. If you don’t have noise you’ll still notice engine running smoother and if you have ticking noise it’ll quite it. Also plan on using Liqui Moly 5w40 oil change kit on my next oil change. Great product.

Yes, Liqui Moly Hydraulic Lifter Additive is safe for gasoline engines like the BMW M62TUB44 when used as directed. Add one 300 ml can to the engine oil; it is intended for 3–6 liters / 3.2–6.4 qt of oil and can be added at any time. Since the M62TUB44 oil capacity is higher than that range, one can is still acceptable, but do not overfill the engine. If the oil is already at the full mark, remove or leave room for roughly 300 ml before adding it.

Liqui Molly suggests 1 300ml can per 3-6 liters of oil, and always recommends staying below 10% additive in an oil system. We would likely recommend using 1 can with a clean, high quality oil.

300 mL is sufficient for 3–6 Liters of engine oil. This is a consumable product that would not qualify for the lifetime warranty since it cannot be repackaged after use. The warranty does apply to engine oil though.
