A common failure item on higher mileage engines, comes with new o-ring

Water pumps on BMW engines are notorious for failures. The stock, or factory installed water pump features a plastic resin impeller which is known to fail completely. When the impeller fails it commonly does so catastrophically. If your BMW has started to overheat it could be due to a water pump failure. Additionally, water pumps can also suffer bearing failure which will cause them to leak as well as make sounds. This replacement pump from Hepu features an all metal impeller which is significantly more durable than the factory style plastic resin impeller.

Engine Water Pump

Your vehicles engine water pump is responsible for keeping coolant flowing through the engine. As water pumps get old the internal bearing can go bad causing noise and a coolant leak. A good indicator that your water pump is failing is if you see coolant leaking through the water pump "weep hole".

Engine Water Pump Failure Symptoms

Don't buy. Started leaking prematurely, just like everyone else is saying. Definitely not utilizing lifetime warranty this, no way I'm installing another one from this brand in my car. Unfortunately, FCP won't give me store credit to go towards a new water pump from a different brand, so I'm out $70.

I've already replaced this pump twice and now I have to replace it again because it's leaking! Stay away from this junk and buy a better brand! Even with LRG it's not worth buying this crap.

Hepu water pump Faild
2001 525iT installed Hepu water pump after 15k miles started to grind badly dont recommend this brand! For a budget Saleri is better option my current water pump is saleri 50k miles so far no leaks or issues .

I bought this for both my e36s. They just dont last long. Alreadly replaced my 325i that lasted about 6 years with a stewart now im dealing with my m3 that starting to leak after five years. My overall review is about the hepu not standing well with that OEM label and be reliable like a stewart pump

Just get a Stewart pump
Shaft seal failed and spit itself out after literally 30 minutes of run time. Pump was just spewing coolant out of the weep hole Seems to be common issue with recent production across this Hepu pump, Graf, Geba, and Saleri. None of the OEMs are safe anymore Just spend the money on a Stewart pump with lifetime warranty for some peace of mind At the very least, FCP support was helpful and understanding

Failed in 9 months
Well, that wasn't good timing. I bought this pump because except for one 3-star review it had all 5-stars when I bought it in August 2023. I noticed it leaking today June 2024, and come back to this page to find all three reviews since I purchased this pump are negative. FCP's Lifetime guarantee is REALLY nice but I wish I could switch brands. I definitely would if the water pump was hard to replace but thankfully it isn't. So I guess I'll buy another one of these terrible parts and wait for it to fail again in less than a year. C'est la vie...recommend going with a different one, maybe Saleri?...just not this one.

This water pump comes as pictured and does not include hardware. It is not mounted to the engine block with bolts either. Mounting to the engine block is done with studs and nuts. The water pump pulley on the other hand uses bolts. Neither hardware is a required replacement. If you would like to replace the hardware please email service@fcpeuro.com with your year and model information so we can provide the correct hardware.

This item looks to be fitted with the O ring in the pictures. Is the O ring included in the packaging?
