Zimmermann/Akebono brake kit for BMW X1
The front brake wear sensor tripped on my wife's 2018 X1 sDrive (FWD) at about 49K miles. The rear pads and rotors had been replaced under the BMW service plan at about 25K miles, but the pads were pretty worn and the rotors had about 20% thickness left, so I chose to do a full F&R brake job. With so many choices as to pads in particular (organic, semi-metallic, ceramic) I did a lot of digging into info on FCP's website as well as elsewhere. My wife is not a 10/10ths driver by any stretch, but trips into AZ high country demands good brake performance, and excessive brake dust is annoying. I ended up choosing the 34116865713KT2 brake kit with the ceramic Akebono pads. 6 months and 5000 miles later, I am exceptionally well pleased with all aspects of the new brakes. After break-in, the pedal feel was unchanged from the OEM (important for my wife's benefit) and there is almost no dust accumulation on the wheels. There is no noticeable difference in braking performance in local suburban driving (a good thing), but subjectively, braking on long mountain freeway downhills seems more secure. Overall, the choice I made was a great one, and I thank FCPEuro for providing not only a wide range of brake pads and rotors, but also plenty of good information to allow the DIYer to make an informed choice.

Solid brakes but loud squealing
I bought these brakes and installed them on our X1. There was some squealing right away but I decided to give them time to break in. After a year of driving with them, the squealing has only gotten worse and is so obnoxiously loud. I wouldn't buy these again. We are already considering swapping them to something different and eating the cost.
