Note: The Brake pad with the bulge on the backing plate is intended for accommodating the brake pad wear sensor and must be fitted on the piston side (inboard) of the brake caliper.

I tried this pads in my bmw X3 G01 (Not blue calipers), and I liked them very much, especially the brake before a stop signal from 65 mph to 0. Much better than Jurid, wich faded with me once, before a stop signal. The akebonos are smooth and silent. The unique recommendation I need to inform here, is important to use the back chrome metal shim from the genuine pads (against the piston calipers), wich perform better the pedal feel, particularly after release the pedal in a sequence o pulsations with your foot. without this chrome metal shim the pedal feel is a little tardy after you release it and the touch is slightly spongy. My only complaint is about the initial bite in the mornings: It looks like you have no brake at all. Of course this a question of time to become more familiar with this kind of material in the pads. I installed back the genuines pads back. The initial bite is really awesome, but, sometimes, disturbing the passengers. The unique problem are three: the unreal brown dusty after just 20 miles, the rotor wear and the annoying noise when you are parking the car.
So, my question is: TRW Ultra, model TXC1892, is better in the initial bite at cold temperatures and have the same less dust level from the Akebonos? It´s worth to move forward to TRW Ultra over my Akebonos.

No. TRW Ultra TXC1892 and this Akebono brake pad set are both ceramic pads that will always have a weaker initial bite in the cold compared to semi-metallic brake pads accordingly. Ceramic pads will always have significantly less dust at the sacrifice of initial bite, while semi-metallic pads have a great initial bite at the expense of much more brake dust.
