It's time for a brake service if your BMW's steering wheel shakes while braking or the light is illuminated on your dash indicating your bake pads are too thin. There are numerous critical parts of your BMW's brake system. The two main wear items are the brake pads and the brake rotors. By their very nature they are intended to wear out.

Brake rotors can wear out in several ways. The most common reason for replacing brake rotors is because they are "warped". Warped brake rotors is another way of saying that there are uneven deposits on the rotor surface from the brake pads. This can cause the steering wheel to shimmy while braking. Rotors can be machined to remove the deposits but this is usually counterproductive and it's often safer and easier to just replace the rotors. One brake rotors reach their minimum specified thickness they must be replaced.

Brake pads are the friction material that allow for braking to begin with. They are softer than the brake rotor surface and tend to wear quicker. The brake pad wear sensor attached to the brake rotor will be tripped when the pad becomes too thin and illuminate a light on your dash letting you know that a brake service is required.

Percent almost.
Outstanding package BUT would be nice it included rotor set screw's etc. Fcp is definitely a premium and these kits should have that reassurance feeling.

Great kit for my 535i f10
What an upgrade! I had a wicked shimmy going on with my old brakes. At 131k miles, I knew it was time. Reading the reviews, I chose this combo of Zimmerman Rotors and Akeboni pads, and wow, they are an amazing change in stopping power, smoothness and quietness. And hardly, if any, dust! I did all four corners at once. I also painted my calipers while I had them apart. Could not be happier with the outcome. My car looks and drives better than new.

Zimmerman Rotor's and Akebono Brake Pads Kit
as I stated in another review , but this set was for my wife's BMW and as with My Audi same outstanding results better stopping , quiet operation, an next to no brake dust at all I highly recommend this combo

Far less brake dust compared to the stock hardware, but most importantly very happy with how they stop and with the brake pedal feel.

The correct quantity of parts to service your BMW's front brakes is included in this kit. Here is why: brake rotors are sold and priced each so therefor two rotors are included in the kit. Brake pads are sold as a set, which includes four brake pads (two for each brake caliper left and right), so a quantity of one is required. There is only one pad wear sensor (located on the front left) so only one is needed. The pad wear sensor clip is a recommended replacement with the pad wear sensor so we include that in the kit to complete the installation as needed.
