Waterfest 2018 was more like underWaterfest 2018 due to all the rain that fell over the weekend but regardless, we had a great time, and so did everyone in attendance. Here's what the show looked like from our lens(es). Waterfest is the biggest Volkswagen and Audi show in North America. For...
The video footage just doesn't do the run justice. We knew several weeks ago, the Volkswagen I.D. R Pikes Peak had smashed the previous year's record of the world famous "race to the clouds" by a full 16 seconds. We also knew that Volkswagen had onboard footage of the run, but didn't know when...
We ran our completely stock, project MK7 GTI around Lime Rock Park for a timed lap. Here's how it did. The MK7 GTI is one of the most fun, capable platforms we've tested in a while. It has the simple essence of a Mark 1 GTI, with all the performance and modern creature comforts you'd expect from...
The E55 AMG drift sedan goes coast-to-coast. Well, almost. FCP Euro staffer Denis Ivanov's 2003 Mercedes-Benz is most commonly found linking turns at Sonoma Raceway, turning rear tire sets into puffy white smoke. No easy feat, considering the car is a heavy, leather-lined luxury sedan that still...
There is nothing quite like an old, classic, completely stock Porsche 911. That is, until you compare it with something like Singer Vehicle Design's latest creation, the "Dynamics and Lightweighting Study" revealed earlier today at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Excuse us while we pry our jaws...
This 2017 MK7 Volkswagen GTI is the latest FCP Euro project car. We've got big plans to turn this into a balanced daily driver, while also being fulfilling on track. Here's how we're going to do it: First, some background info. We bought this 2017 Volkswagen GTI second-hand with 13,000 miles on...

Last week, we installed a passenger seat in our Volkswagen GTI TCRs and gave hot laps at Lime Rock Park to our VIP guests. Here are their reactions: "One hot hatch on a hazy day." "Oh, it was fun." "Every single time, I thought 'We're gonna crash, we're gonna crash, this is it, it's been...
Trial, error. Trial, error. Trial, SUCCESS! In the latest episode of Dapper Drift, our developer, Denis Ivanov, links Summer Jam at Sonoma Raceway in California. If you don't know what that means, or why you should care, allow me to explain: Drifting is, in essence, the ability to control a...
The 2500-pound electric race car shares more in common with our Volkswagen GTI TCR than we thought. We know that on June 24, 2018, Volkswagen's all-electric I.D. R Pikes Peak smashed the previous 2003 record held by Sebastian Loeb by a full 16-seconds. What we didn't know, is that the I.D. R...
