The Mercedes-Benz ML350 is a Luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV) that was introduced in 2004 to replace the ML320 as the baseline vehicle in the M-Class lineup, and is still for sale today. Originally introduced as part of the W163 series (first generation M-Class) the chassis quickly changed into the W164 (second generation M-Class) for the 2006 model year which lasted until 2011. The W164 differs greatly from older models because it uses a car-like unibody construction rather than the more conventional truck based body-on-frame type construction, it is also larger yet restyled for a more aerodynamic design. The M-Class was voted ""Best New Sport Utility Vehicle"" for the Canadian Car of the Year Awards in 2006. Under the hood of the ML350 lives a 3.5L V6 engine that produces around 270 horsepower and 258 ft-lbs of torque. The ML350 includes such safety features as electronic stability control which some tests have proven to reduce single car crashes by as much as 30% and optional Active Curve Illuminating headlights that move with steering motions to allow drivers to see around curves at night more clearly.
