Product Information

The water pump on your VW 1.4T is driven off the exhaust camshaft on the rear of the engine via a toothed belt. The water pump over time can become worn and develop a leak while the the housing is also known to become brittle with time and age and crack. The thermostat is built into the housing and while it can be serviced separately, we recommend to replace it along with the entire water pump assembly if it hasn't been replaced recently to avoid future failure, ensure a reliable repair, and to save on labor time. This kit comes with a new water pump assembly, new gaskets, seals, hardware, engine coolant, and a new drive belt.

Engine Water Pump Kit

An engine water pump is a crucial component of a vehicle's cooling system. It circulates coolant (a mix of antifreeze and water) from the radiator through the engine and back to the radiator to prevent the engine from overheating. The pump is typically driven by the engine via a belt, chain, or gear. A water pump's key functions are to maintain a consistent flow of coolant through the engine block, cylinder heads, and radiator and regulate engine temperature to prevent overheating or freezing in extreme conditions.
