A console trim panel is a decorative and protective panel located on or around a vehicle’s center console. It surrounds components such as the gear shifter, cup holders, infotainment controls, climate controls, and storage compartments. These panels are usually made of plastic, wood, metal, or a combination, often with a textured or colored finish to match the interior.

Functions:

  • Aesthetic: Provides a finished, visually appealing look to the console area.
  • Protection: Shields underlying electronics, wiring, and mechanical components from dust, spills, and wear.
  • Support: May include mounting points for switches, buttons, or storage compartments.

Doesn't Fit On 2013 VW Passat TDI SEL
I've been looking for a missing shifter console trim piece that's been missing in my car since I bought it, and I searched all over for it. It seems it doesn't fit which I figured might be the case, however, since the price was so low it doesn't bother me much. Other than not fitting or having much description, It arrived about two weeks early and with excellent packaging. I imagine this piece is for a newer model VW Passat so if you have around a 2015-2020 maybe it's a right fit. I gave it four stars because the piece not fitting isn't a result of it being broken or anything on FCP Euro, just a result of inconvenience on my part. If you know for sure this is the correct piece for your vehicle then I would highly recommend purchasing from FCP Euro.
