Product Information
This kit is designed for the infamous P0016 Cam/Crank Correlation Code.
If you are experiencing slow crank or no start we recommend you to scan the vehicle for faults first. If fault P0016 Cam/Crank Correlation fault shows its more then likely its time to replace your timing chain. We recommend you to check base timing, perform cylinder compression, and perform cylinder leak down. If you find low compression or cylinder leak we recommend you to use a bore-scope to check intake & exhaust valves for damage. If the valves are bent you will need to replace them as well.
Diagnosis Procedures To Check Before Repairing Your Timing Chain:
- Scan Vehicle For Faults
- Check Base Timing
- Cylinder Compression Test
- Cylinder Leak Down Test
This Timing Chain Kit Includes:
- Timing Chain (Camshafts To Crank Shaft)
- Timing Chain Tensioner (Updated Version)
- Guide Rails
- Cambridge
- Upper Timing Chain Cover Gasket
- Lower Timing Chain Cover
- New Hardware To Complete Timing Chain Service
- Sealant To Seal Lower Timing Chain Cover
An engine timing chain is a crucial component in an internal combustion engine that synchronizes the rotation of the crankshaft and camshafts. It ensures that the engine's valves open and close at the proper times during each cylinder's intake and exhaust strokes, maintaining optimal engine performance. Timing chains are typically made of metal and are designed to last for the life of the engine, though they can wear out or become damaged over time. Damaged or stretched chains can impact the timing on an engine and overwork the tensioner, failures in this system can cause catastrophic engine failure and costly repairs.
Engine Timing Chain Kit Failure Symptoms- Noise: A common symptom of a failing timing chain is a rattling or slapping noise coming from the engine, especially during startup or acceleration. This noise may be more pronounced at idle or startup
- Poor Engine Performance: If the timing chain is stretched, it can lead to decreased power, acceleration problems, or sluggish performance
