Suspension Strut Cartridge

A suspension strut cartridge is the internal shock-absorbing component housed within a strut assembly. It controls suspension movement by dampening the up-and-down motion of the springs, ensuring stability, comfort, and proper tire contact with the road. In some vehicles, the cartridge can be replaced separately without changing the entire strut housing.

Suspension Strut Cartridge Failure Symptoms
  • Excessive bouncing or poor ride comfort, as the cartridge can no longer dampen spring movement effectively.
  • Nose-diving or body roll, especially during braking or cornering, due to weakened damping control.
  • Fluid leaks or clunking noises, indicating internal seal failure or worn-out cartridge components.
