Bilstein B8 Performance Plus dampers are a performance upgrade to OE dampers designed to be paired with aftermarket lowering springs. These dampers offer application specific valve settings with a monotube design to bring out the best handling performance of a vehicle. Each damper is rigorously tested for quality that meets or exceeds OE standards. B8 Performance Plus dampers are the ideal solution for pairing with a lowering spring for improved handling and sportier look with the added benefit of world-famous Bilstein quality.
A shock absorber kit is a set of replacement components designed to restore a vehicle's suspension system. It typically includes shock absorbers along with essential parts like mounting hardware and seals. These components work together to dampen the suspension by controlling the rebounding motion of the springs. Signs of a failing shock absorber include a bouncy ride, excessive body roll during cornering, nose-diving when braking, uneven tire wear, and sometimes visible fluid leaks from the shock.

If you want a responsive improvement to the suspension of your MK7.5 GTI without the tooth shattering vibrations of coil overs this is it. I had installed stiffened lowering springs, stiffer bump stops, 15mm wheel spacers and stiffer front/back anti-sway bars to pair with the stock struts and shocks and it just wasn't enough. While I love the 7.5 gen, it just wasn't the same as my old stock MK5 which had MUCH less body roll to it. But there was still too much floaty body roll during hard transition maneuvers, too much nose dip during hard breaking (60 front/40 rear weight distribution). The ride felt maybe 15-18% stiffer. I installed these and holy hell. Amazing. The feel of the road through the steering column was the first thing I noticed. Much better feel for every nuance on the pavement. Then I took some back roads and WOW. The car responds quicker in turns, body roll further reduced and most of all - no more floaty feeling over rises or hard lane transitions or quick left/right turns on back roads. Best of all, it still feels like a daily driver. It kills me that Volkswagen didn't consider all of this with the MK7.5, because NOW it feels closer to the tighter suspension I had in the MK5. Can't recommend this product enough.

Easily brought car into range with S Audi and M BMW feel, very comfortable and I have a few friends now with these all have been really happy.
If not using with a lower spring use the bilstein b6 for a similar upgrade.
These struts ride great. I think they go paired very well with the H&R lowering springs I also got. They give a car a different feel. It’s more stuff and responsive in my opinion but not over stiff in terms of bumpiness like coils. I’d definitely say buy them if you’re wanting a lowered look with better ride quality than coilovers.

will i need to buy two sets to do the whole car? or is one set good for front and rear?
