VW Shock Absorber (Golf) - Bilstein Touring 1L0513033L

If your car's handling has degraded, or you are noticing it bounces more over bumps, or you have noticed a leak on the shock, you may need to replace your shocks. Be sure to check all the components of the suspension for excessive play and replace as necessary so you only have to do the job once.

Bilstein’s perform due to their larger piston area and quality manufacturing. Bilstein shocks eliminate dead spots, and deliver extremely responsive valving for superior performance and handling, including consistent, fade-free damping and shorter braking distance. Made only from the highest quality materials, Bilstein shocks may be slightly more expensive than their conventional twin-tube counterparts, however, their reduced valve fatigue means they last much longer. Bilstein shocks provide much greater cost-effectiveness due to their longer service life.

Serious racers in America long ago realized conventional twin tube shocks did not fare as well during the high speeds and G-forces of race conditions as monotube gas pressure shocks. This is why NASCAR, Indy Car, and Formula One pit crews have long discarded the older twin tube design and now all use monotube shocks instead. Although other monotube shocks do exist, none can match Bilstein’s for the technological superiority that delivers longer durability and performance.

'97 Golf Gl Upgrade/Conversion

Great road manners! I recently finish a complete suspension overhaul and upgrade on my '97 Golf GL. These shocks are quite a bit stiffer than the stock GL units; but not harshly so. They work very well with B&G sport springs. The rear end feel is precise and predictable. Squat and roll are virtually eliminated under all but the most aggressive driving conditions. I currently have these paired with a set of stock Corrado G60 struts up front. I recently discovered that one strut is defective. I just ordered Bilstein Tourers (Corrado SLC VR6). I'll post again once I've had a chance to live with those for a couple of weeks.

Some of the reviewers above may have been rewarded for their positive & negative reviews. We don't hold anything back.
