This lubricant is designed to be used on the convertible hardtop seals on your VW EOS. Keeping the seals lubricated and pliable ensures proper sealing and prevents the possibility of water intrusion and a possible interruption of hardtop operation. FCP Euro recommends maintaining and lubricating the seals on your convertible on an annual basis.

Convertible Top Seal

A convertible top seal is the rubber weatherstripping that lines the edges of a convertible roof, windshield frame, and side windows. Its primary purpose is to create a tight seal when the top is closed, preventing water, wind, and noise from entering the cabin. These seals also protect the interior from dust and help maintain proper fit and function of the roof mechanism. With age, exposure to sunlight, and frequent opening/closing, the seals can deteriorate.

Convertible Top Seal Failure Symptoms
  • Water leaks – rainwater or car wash water entering around the roof or windows.
  • Wind noise – increased whistling or air drafts at highway speeds.
  • Visible deterioration – cracks, flattening, or shrinking of the rubber seal.
