VW Hood Seal - Empi 113823731B

Product Information

A car hood seal is a strip of rubber or rubber-like material that runs along the edge of the hood where it meets the body of the vehicle. Its main function is to create a barrier that prevents water, dust, dirt, and engine heat from escaping or entering where the hood closes. It also helps reduce vibration and noise, ensuring the hood fits snugly and securely while protecting sensitive engine components from external contaminants.

• Water, dirt, or debris entering the engine bay, often noticeable after rain or car washes.
• Excessive engine noise or vibration felt inside the cabin due to loss of proper sealing.
• Visible wear such as cracks, flattening, or sections of the seal detaching from the hood.
