NOTE:
- Do not use factory torque spec.
- Must only be torqued to 10nm.
- A 1/4 drive is perfect for achieving 10nm (which is basically hand tight)
Here's a really nice, affordable upgrade for all Haldex AWD cars.
We've all seen the sludge that builds up around the Haldex's pump's oil strainer. This sludge forms from a nasty mix of oil, worn friction material and minute ferrous particles. Pretty quickly, this clogs the surface of the Haldex filter, blocking the flow of oil to the pump.
Many owners have experienced their AWD car slowly becoming FWD as this filter blocks up.
Our new RacingLine Magnetic Haldex Plug attracts and separates out these minute abrasive and ferrous metal particles, stopping them from circulating around the Haldex’s lubrication systems and reducing the sludge that blocks the filter between services.
Install couldn’t be simpler. Screw in the two new plugs at the next Haldex service, and you’re protected.

After nearly completing the Haldex service, I torqued the 12 mm hex bolt to 10 NM, and instead of hearing a click from my torque wrench, I heard a crack from the bolt and endless spinning ensued. Trying my luck with another magnetic Haldex bolt. Very disappointed and appears I’m not the only one.
Disappointing. The magnetic bolt snapped while torquing it to the specified 15nm. Luckily i was able to extract it. Sure, torque wrench readings may have some margin of error, but still, the bolt should not be so brittle that it snaps at anywhere near the specified torque. I went with another oem bolt in the end, but id give 034's magnetic bolt a try in the future, seems to be stronger, made for the oem torque spec of 32nm.
Worked Great, some previous comments mention snapping the head and it is due to following vw’s spec of 38NM instead you are supposed to torque these to 10NM only
Had this installed by the dealership during my last Haldex service, it’s a beautiful piece of kit as with all things Racingline and the peace of mind knowing there’s a magnet to suck in any metal is awesome. The biggest reason for 5 stars is that they included enough washers for 5 services which means there’s enough extra to do 150,000 miles of driving and have the pump flushed/serviced every 30k miles. There’s Another company who makes a magnetic haldex plug kit, and they only include enough washers for the first service…same price too!
