Engine Coolant Hose Flange

An engine coolant hose flange is a fitting or connection point where the coolant hoses attach to the engine or other components in the cooling system. This flange is typically made of metal or plastic and is designed to create a secure seal to prevent coolant leaks. It plays a critical role in maintaining the proper flow of coolant throughout the engine, radiator, and heater core, helping to regulate the engine's temperature.

Engine Coolant Hose Flange Failure Symptoms
  • Coolant Leaks: One of the most noticeable symptoms of a failing coolant hose flange is visible coolant leaks. If the flange or the connection point becomes damaged, coolant may leak onto the ground or other engine components
  • Overheating Engine: A compromised flange can disrupt the flow of coolant, leading to insufficient cooling. This can cause the engine to overheat, triggering the temperature warning light on the dashboard
