VW Coilover Set - H&R 298191

Product Information

Suspension coilovers are a type of car suspension system that combines a coil spring and a shock absorber (damper) into a single, integrated unit. The name comes from “coil” (the spring) and “over” (meaning the shock is inside or over the spring). Coilovers are typically adjustable, allowing you to change ride height, stiffness, and sometimes damping settings, depending on the model.

Benefits of Coilovers:

• Adjustable ride height: Coilover suspension typically features a threaded adjustable spring platform, allowing adjustment of ride height for better handling, aesthetics, or clearance.
• Improved Handling and Stability: Coilovers usually offer better cornering performance and reduced body roll compared to stock suspension.
• Customizable Ride Comfort: Many coilovers allow you to tune stiffness and damping to balance comfort and performance.
• Better Weight Distribution: Some coilovers can be adjusted corner-by-corner to fine-tune handling balance.
• Enhanced Appearance: Lowering the car can improve the stance and overall look.
• Versatility for Different Driving Conditions: Ideal for street, track, or off-road setups depending on the coilover design.

About HR

In the late 1970’s Mr. Werner Heine (H) and Mr. Heinz Remmen (R) saw the need for an improved street suspension with a strong belief that vehicles could have more control and better handling. Today, every spring produced by H&R comes from the H&R ISO 9001 certified engineering and manufacturing facility in Germany. H&R Sport Springs offer the handling characteristics and aggressive appearance that you’ve been looking for, without the harsh ride characteristics of less-advanced spring systems. H&R Sport Springs feature more control and are engineered for the street, making them comfortable and fun to drive. Over the years, H&R has developed a diverse line of products and suspension applications including four different spring product lines, six different coil over product lines, two different Cup Kit product lines, a sway bar program, the largest wheel spacer and adapter program in the industry, camber adjustment bolts, a lightweight line of I.D. Race Springs, and the ever popular Quick-Safe Wheel Bolt Stud conversions. All of their products are vehicle specific and are produced to enhance handling potential, personal style, and retain vehicle ride comfort.
