VW Clutch Cable Sleeve - Gemo 311721361

The clutch cable is one of two designs used for disengaging the clutch assembly for vehicles with a manual transmission. Typical modern-day vehicles will use a hydraulic design, which uses hydraulic pressure to depress the clutch release fork, while older models tend to use a cable system, which is used to pull the release fork and serves as the link between the clutch pedal and the release fork. Just like any other cable, the clutch cable can stretch over time to the point where it falls out of adjustment. If you're experiencing issues where the clutch is failing to disengage in your VW, it may be in need of a new clutch cable however always be sure to inspect all of the other associated cable hardware such as the Clutch Cable Sleeve to rule out other possible failure points.
