Resolved my parking brake pedal issues
Every time I released my parking brake, the parking brake light remained on until I manually lifted the pedal up a tad. Replacing the strut resolved the issue perfectly. I would like to add that it is difficult to install the strut as it extends ever so slightly more than the parking brake pedal itself, but with some elbow grease it is definitely possible. Lift up the pedal as much as you can.

OEM Part
Great OEM part, fixed my issue with parking brake lamp error light on dash. Shock was not fully extending like it should and this fixed that issue so the pedal would disengage with the brake sensor. Easy fix if you know how to disconnect the metal locking clips on the old damper that's being remove.

You Need/Want One of These
Direct replacement part for your worn-out parking brake release mechanism. This is the part that ensures the pedal is completely disengaged, and also controls the movement of pedal so it's not so jarring and noisy when released. It's easy to replace...all you need is a light and a small, flat-tipped screwdriver to pry up the retainer clips at both ends; super-easy. I've had to replace this gas strut in both our Q7s now, as it was getting hung up mid-release, noisy, etc. Very simple DIY replacement.

Sagging parking Brake Pedal
This damper works excellent, and now I don't have to 'hook' the pedal with my foot and pull it up after I run over a bump or two. This restored the factory feel to my parking brake pedal! about 5 minute install with a small flat head screwdriver and a bit of strength.

Just a guy tires of stealer-ship prices.
Such an improvement over the old busted one. I wish i found this sooner!
