Volvo Timing Cover Seal Kit - Victor Reinz KIT-516085

Except for some fluids and stuff pretty much a complete kit. I think the other reviewer Isaac was an unfortunate victim of some supply problems. When I was shopping earlier this year I noticed the kit fluctuating between genuine valve cover gasket (which doesnt come with the expensive grommets) and a Mahle which went backordered a lot, and looks like a mistake by FCP when swapping in and out. Sounds like a bummer, but happy to report I got all the seals I needed

I had been eyeing the comprehensive timing cover reseal kit but when I was ready to buy, it was not available. I bought this kit and added the other parts I needed/wanted. The job went well and all these parts were just perfect! Huge thanks to FCP Euro for putting this kit together and helping me complete this repair. I am happy to report my V8 is no longer leaking oil.

I believe that I was overcharged for this kit, and not only that, I was sent two front valve cover gaskets in the "kit" and no rear gasket. I was charged $664.15 plus tax and shipping and after discovering the gasket problem I went back to the website and saw that the "kit" price was $496.79. I inquired about the price difference and the response from Eric B at FCP Euro was, " The automotive market fluctuates every day, so price increases and decreases happen regularly." Unbelieveable, a $167.36 price drop in a few weeks, it's a miracle! I hope I'm the only customer to see this level of price drop AFTER making a purchase. Here's what happened after I reached out to customer support because of receiving two front valve cover gaskets and no rear cover gasket in their "kit." It began after FCP Euro sent me the wrong gasket in an advertised "kit." I explained that I was sent the wrong gasket. Eric B at FCP Euro then tells me that I purchased two of the same valve cover gaskets. I had to explain again that I did not purchase two of the same gaskets. I purchased a "kit" and not individual valve cover gaskets. Then Eric B then asked me to send photos of the gaskets and packaging received in, which I did. Both gaskets were the same, one came in the usual plastic wrapped cardboard backing and the other was jumbled up in an unmarked plastic bag. Eric B. at FCP Euro finally agreed that it was their fault and said that the correct gasket would be shipped. FCP Euro was made aware of this problem in late June. After making me run in circles for a few days they finally informed me by email four days later that the gasket was shipped on July 3rd. I hope I receive the correct gasket after all of this but I wish they didn't ship it by snail. The expected delivery date is July 20th and that's just not right. I'm sitting here wondering why I've been made to wait for weeks to receive a simple valve cover gasket that should have arrived in a few days. Actually, because FCP messed up by sending me the wrong gasket so out of courtesy and to make up for their mistake the replacement should have been shipped overnight. I'm a fairly new FCP Euro customer and I hope to remain so but when things like this happen, it's difficult. If not for the helpful FCP Euro videos I'd probably have already abandoned FCP Euro. My appreciation for the videos has kept me here. I like Mike Hidalgo's presentations because he reminds me of my baby brother with his calm and clear explanations that make it almost entertaining to watch auto repair videos. Customer service and satisfaction are important in any business and I hope that FCP Euro can understand this. Not only has this been frustrating, it's cost me a lot more money than I can afford. I rented a car for a week while I work on my Volvo. I'm now into the fourth week of the rental and I'm still waiting for a simple valve cover gasket. Had I known that FCP planned to ship the gasket on the back of the world's slowest snail, I would have bought the gasket elsewhere and saved a couple of weeks of car rental fees. OK, I've vented but strangely I'm still disappointed...
