Amazing Difference in Ride
I purchased this kit as well as replacement front and rear sway bars and had a Volvo mechanic here in Miami called Swedish Motors install. The ride and feel to the car is incredible. It is handling like new! I've also replaced the lower control arms so it's really a whole new suspension system.
Volvo V70 XC 2001

Volvo Suspension Kit - Sachs 529588
I purchased 2001 V70 XC from mycarguy-sf.com in the fall of 2021. The owner (Dave Sutch) swore up and down that the Volvo Wagon was ready to go and had been recently gone through mechanically to include fresh suspension and many other parts updated at the time of purchase by his European trained mechanic. After about 50 miles of driving it became apparent there was a lot wrong with the car that had been concealed from us, one of the main issues we found was the installation of Chinese struts / springs (the ones you can buy for $189 or $300/pair) on amazon to replace the OEM. Well, the front shocks were bottoming out and there was a loud "clunk" every time the car went over a small dip in the road. Thank goodness for FCP Euro's kit! We bought this and replaced the suspension all around, now the car drives great. Side by side with the Chinese parts, what FCP euro puts in the box is far superior and well worth the (small) premium. Also they meet their shipping deadlines ahead of schedule, this kit is awesome and I'm a lifetime customer!

Can the rear springs be swapped out for the heavy duty version?

This kit cannot be modified in any way; swapping out any product in the kit would require the individual items within the kit to be purchased a la carte.
