This radiator is for Manual and Automatic cars. For manual transmission cars, Volvo specifies to leave the transmission cooler connections open. This radiator comes with a fan switch for vehicles with an electric fan. The temperature range for the fan switch is 82 degrees to 92 degrees C.

Your radiator is an integral, and arguably, the most important part of the cooling system. It is designed to expel heat from the coolant via the small fins. Most radiators fail when the end tanks crack causing leaks, but higher mileage radiators which have missing or bent fins often are clogged up with debris which can also cause overheating issues as the radiator cannot expel heat effectively. If your radiator is in rough shape we recommend replacing it. We also highly recommend inspecting/replacing the upper and lower radiator hose at that time.

Great fit, easy enough DIY install.
OEM radiator was sealed up with the minerals from previous owner's tap water or whatever... Preventative purchase for after super cooling system flush. Lighter than stock, warranty, better cooling, not full of stalagmites and held together with salt scale, nice. ~2 years, no issues yet
All three of my volvo 240's have this radiator now and are cooling fantastic. Quality Part.
Installed in a Volvo 240 with a rotted out radiator. After 5000 miles this radiator has been keeping things cool. Plus great service from FCP as usual.
Used this on my head gasket. Stayed cool, pretty decent quality.

No issues with fitment or install and looks to be good quality. No complaints here.
Install was quick and easy, includes radiator and fan switch which was not needed for my model but needed to be installed, also there are trans cooler lines not something the 5sp trans needs but description covers that. All in all works as expected appeared to be a quality part, included new clips that hold the fan shroud screws into. Took about 1.5 to install fill coolant backup tested been a couple weeks with no issues.
Fit niece's '90 740 perfectly and works flawlessly.

Do you know what temperature the switch is calibrated for? Also, I believe the picture is upside down. When installed the transmission cooler fittings are on the passenger side.

Rows are not serviced separately, the entire unit comes as and is serviced as one piece.

What is this mystery "plug"? Does it come with the radiator or not? Are you shipping a radiator with a big hole in it? The item description shows a photo of a plug. Sheesh...

It says on your site that the Nissens radiator is OEM. does that mean the genuine volvo radiator for almost a hundred bucks more is just a nissens radiator in a volvo box?

The hole is for the Thermo contact switch in which some cars use. If not used, there is a plug and gasket needed.
