Direct Ignition Coil

Direct ignition coils are located directly over the top of the spark plug. In this ignition setup there is one ignition coil per spark plug and there are no spark plug wires. This ignition setup is often referred to as a coil on plug ignition system.

Coil on plug or direct ignition systems are pretty much used on all modern cars due to packaging, performance, emissions, and maintenance reasons. This ignition system is essentially maintenance free with the exception of spark plug replacements and the occasional coil replacement when compared to a traditional ignition system.

This kit just makes sense.
I bought this kit for my 150k mile service recently, which per Volvo maintenance schedule requires spark plug replacement. I figured with this many miles (and a 15 year old car) it makes sense to also put new ignition coils with my new spark plugs to keep my car running well. Genuine Volvo spark plugs and Bosch ignition coils that fit perfectly and my car continues to run great! Thank you FCP Euro for putting this kit together!

coils/ spark plugs
Took care of the miss fire at higher RPMs on 2007 Volvo V 70 R .As I was replacing a Coils I also found out that wiring going to the coils were in bad shape the insulation gotten hard over the years and came off Took care of all that and put a new wire loom and new tape looks very professional now..

Coils received are better then what Volvo was using on my 2007 s60r. (originals had the boot and spring, replacements have a tunnel in the boot leading into the end where they connect... seems like a much better design) Both were made by Bosch.

Excellent price, what the dealer would have charged for just one coil, I was able to obtain all 5, plus new spark plugs. Great company, very fast shipping and where else can you get a lifetime warranty on all parts.

Good fit. May want to leave the cover off to let them breath as heat and electronics just don't get along.

Received the spark plug and coil kit for my '06 V70R January 9, 2018. Had my independent Volvo shop install them 1/24/18. These are the items they normally install and they were fine with me ordering from FCP Euro. Beats replacing the coil packs individually as they fail. One less thing to worry about. Value priced compared to having the shop buy them.

No, these are turbo spark plugs. In the US we did not get a non-turbo C30, so your car will not come up in any of our fitment guides. However this kit is for the same engine and will work for your Volvo: KIT-P1NACOILKIT
