After years of abuse and exposure to the elements your suspension will become weak and worn making it difficult to perform as original when the vehicle was new. It's usually recommended to replace front end suspension components at or around the 100k mile mark or sooner depending on your vehicle's driving conditions. Suspension Strut Assembly Kit

A shock absorber kit is a set of replacement components designed to restore a vehicle's suspension system. Kit contents could be better
Generally satisfied with quality and fit. Kit compliment could be better if single use hardware specified for strut-to-hub-carrier and anti-roll connecting link nut were substituted for non-wear items as rubber washer, star nuts, and bumpstop washer. Also, inlcusion of two strut mount braces is questionnable. (I mistook these for lower ball joints when placing the order). Note that the ABS sensor-wire mounting tab is not included: it was possible to drift out the (nylon?) pins, from the face side, and transfer the ABS mounitng flange to the new strut without damaging the tab. A little grease at the entry helped to locate and ease the reinsertion of the pins. If I were doing front suspension over, I would consider disassembly before ordering wear items a-la-carte as needed. I appreciate the opportunity to offer constructive comment here.

Fit well
Everything fit well and the kit is complete. I agree about the original strut nuts; I used them not the copper nuts in the kit. Only broke one ABS mount, it would be advisable to order 2 of them with the kit. Very happy!

the kit fit up easily, the only thing missing was the plastic retainer piece for the ABS hoses to clip to the struts...was a bit of fiddling to re-use the old ones.

Front Strut Replacement
I installed this kit over the weekend. I think it took me about 3 hours to do both sides. 2 hours for the first one 1 hour for the second. For an IT guy I don't think thats half bad. Over all I think the kit is very well thought out. It included almost everything I needed to finish the job. I only have two issues with it. 1. This kit should have included the $3.00 plastic ABS brackets. I ended up busting off the plastic ABS sensor wire brackets. Not sure if they were epoxyed on the strut or what. Need to order two of those. 2. The replacement nuts on the top strut bearing are odd. They are brass in color and a bit smaller then the OEM nuts. In addition the OEM nuts I took of had a built in washer. So I installed the brass nuts and then stopped buy Volvo parts today and picked up the OEM washers and the larger locking nuts. One other thing I did that made this job almost effortless was to purchase a corded Milwaukee 1/2 in. Impact Wrench model 9070-20. It busted the bolts and nuts off the struts like they were brand new. You can get this tool at Home Depot for around 160.00 I highly recommend it. Overall a great kit. Thanks FCP Euro.

The video attached is purely for reference, this kit will have Sachs shocks. The procedure will be very similar. In all but rare cases, our car parts do not come with instructions. However, shop manuals and more in-depth/specific procedures can be found online. Unfortunately, we can't offer procedures for all the parts we sell.

Does this kit come with the strut to knuckle bolt/nut? This is for both passenger and driver side of the car?

This is for both sides. If you want the bolts and nuts, get 982870 x4 and 985660 x4
