The brake pads in this kit are Ceramic. The main benefit of using a ceramic pad compound is that it produces less brake dust compared to a semi-metallic pad without sacrificing overall braking power. I have this brake kit on my 1998 V70 GLT. The brakes squeal loudly on light application at low speeds. I believe I bedded them in properly at installation. I've taken them apart and cleaned/lubricated the appropriate surfaces, but the squeal remains. Do you have any suggestion for something else I could try? Previous Akebono pads on this car didn't have this issue, so I'm wondering if the new rotors are the problem. Thank you for your assistance! Do not think any noise will be coming from the rotors, would assume it is the pads. Now these are ceramic pads and Akebono pads are sometimes considered a bit noisier then factory or other semi metallic pads. I would regrease them and rebed the pads (after swapping sides) and perhaps there that will alleviate the issue.
