This OE Pierburg boost pressure valve electronically regulates the vacuum signal to the turbo wastegate. When it fails, you will struggle to make turbo boost pressure, as this valve wont be able to adequately close the wastegate. If you are having problems with your turbo boost pressure, replacing this valve is a logical first step.

Problem fixed!
Nope, not a bad transmission. Not a bad turbo. Just this little part... The shop wanted $3,200 to replace the turbo, but completely unnecessary. All halting fixed. This part should be replaced every 10 years or so.

Just like the old one!
Identical to the one removed from the car, which seemed to be the original one- started having intermittent turbo issues and codes come up when the weather got really cold last winter. Old solenoid was cracked and corroded and was not engaging every time when I tested it. Thanks FCP!

Turbo Boost Control Valve
My 2001 V70 T5M w/210k miles felt down on power, lacking low-end torque, throttle response and slow to boost. I had done a tune-up with fresh plugs, filters, etc…turbo was working and in good condition, but something was hampering it…symptoms pointed to the turbo control valve, so I started there….boom, there was my lost power! An extremely easy and cheap fix, the best kind!

Old TCV Valve had failed, replaced it with this puppy and the sound alone was worth the price. The wooosh of the turbo when you put your foot down will put a smile 10 miles wide on your face. Just buy it, it's affordable and makes a world of difference in performance and sound.

Amazing purchase. Mind blowing the price difference between this one and the genuine one which is EXACTLY this one at 3 times the price!!!. I pulled an IDENTICAL Pierburg valve from my car, why would I purchase a Genuine just for the blue box with the Volvo name on it?? LOL. very easy to replace, 5 min job literally at the most.

I have a 2004 S80 2.5L Turbo. I had a DTC 0243 so I ordered and just received the Pierburg replacement boost pressure valve from FCP Euro. I went to swap out the original with the new part. While disconnecting the original valve, I noticed that the wiring at the base of the electrical connector was partially severed (there are two wires in the connector and one was fine but the other severed). That wiring was integrated into a complex of wiring further back in the engine bay. What do you recommend I do to fix the wire? Is that something a somewhat novice DIYer can handle?

If there is enough wire left behind the pin that the wire broke from, you may be able to solder the wire back together and repair, however a new pin and or connector housing may be required depending on severity. If you are not comfortable repairing harness issues like this we definitely suggest contacting a local indie shop or dealer to assist with the repair. That being said, general repairs like this are usually quite simple to accomplish as a DIYer with the right tools. You may do well seeking out basic wire repair tutorials on youtube.

I have a late year 1999 V70 XC with a VIN ending in 2587997. Several components of my car are model year 2000 spec. It just started throwing p0237 and p0236 codes and is experiencing hard starting, indicating possibly needing a turbo boost sensor replacement. Will this model fit my Volvo?

The solenoid valve for a 1999 is 9155936, and 2000-2002 is 9473212. If you have mixed parts and systems you'll have to figure out which one you have if you want to replace.

While not originally intended for the vehicle, I'd recommend to sticking with p/n 30670449 instead of the 30670448.
