Horn

A car horn is an electromechanical or electronic device that produces a loud audible sound to alert other drivers, pedestrians, or animals of the vehicle’s presence. It’s a critical safety component designed for communication on the road.

Horn Failure Symptoms
  • Horn does not sound at all – may be due to a blown fuse, bad relay, broken wiring, or a faulty horn unit.
  • Weak or muffled sound – often caused by internal wear of the diaphragm, corroded connectors, or poor ground connection.
  • Intermittent operation – horn works sometimes and fails other times, usually pointing to a failing switch, loose wiring, or corrosion.

Clown horns
I hooked these horns up, blew them once and pictured a Volkswagen beetle with 50 clowns climbing out of it. Some people might be okay with that, but these are going right in the garbage.

Misleading Item Description
This horn as OEM for 911 Carrera, which is false. This is a generic part that needs modification to connect it. I ordered it and now I have to pay to return it and go through this whole trouble. Please don't list an item as OEM if it's not as not to confuse users and start doubting every other item that says OEM as well.

Great horns, very loud
I've had these horns for 5 years now and they still work great. They were incredibly easy to install and I had no issues wiring them in and mounting them where my hold horns were. The sound they make is loud and harmonic. Much more noticeable and pleasant sounding than the stock horn. I use them every so often and they always get everyone's attention.

2010 Volvo XC60 can be heard again
These are not plug and play so you will need to make them physically fit where there may be smaller horns now, and you will need to tap into wires to some degree. Also, the three-layer bracket attached to each horn is critical to the sound it will make when activated, so if you direct-mount the horn element, it will not honk like designed; that said, the layered brackets can be bent to fit behind fender liners and bumper covers… my P3 Volvo is back to announcing its presence with authority with these Hellas, they work great

Works great
Perfect fit for 1981 Mercedes 300TD. Sounds great. Only had to change original Mercedes lugs.

Hella Horn Kit
I bought these for my 91 BMW 850. I was able to install them pretty easily, but the sound is a bit tinny, and not terribly loud.

Doesn't fit the MINI
These horns are too big to fit in an r56 mini. The site says they're compatible, but they're far too big to fit.

Hella bad
I was looking to replace my E550 horn and thought Hella is a good brand. These are just obnoxious and they sound like horns that have Covid. It’s unfortunate that I had my mechanic put them on and I can’t take them off so I can send them back.

Big, loud, red
These were a bit bigger than I was expecting. I was replacing a factory twin horn setup, with no additional room to spare. Thus I was only able to fit one of these and kept one factory horn. As I was replacing existing twin horns I was able to use the existing wiring without any problems. The horns themselves are very loud, and surprise people, even when doing short "toot". But with quieter cars, maybe that's not a bad thing. My horns mount right behind the grill, and the red from the hella horn cage is visible through the grill. That's not a problem for me, but some may not like it. Overall I like the open design, should prevent water from pooling and causing problems (which is what took out the factory horn).
