Starter

Starter motors are what get your engine running. In order for an engine to start it must be rotating. The starter motor spins the engine via the flywheel or flex plate while fuel is injected into the engine. Starter motors are very robust and have a long service life but can fail. A failed starter motor will prevent you from being able to start your car.

I installed the starter and my Discovery started. Other reviewer stated that wire leading to solenoid was bare. This was not the case on mine. Appears to be good quality for the price, and shipping was very fast.

A few listing errors to note, this part is not made in the UK like the listing mentions. It's made in China (CN) and the box says "Made to British Specifications." On a side by side comparison, there is exposed copper wiring that connects the starter to the solenoid whereas in the Bosch unit this is insulated. This specific variation can be addressed with a piece of heat shrink but you start to wonder what other differences exist and how will this impact longevity. I'm keeping the unit for now because this one is affordable compared to the Bosch starter and does not have a core charge. There are some grammatical errors in Eurospare's provided literature. Its command of the English language does not sound American or British. I am eternally grateful for FCP Euro's Lifetime Replacement Guarantee.
