Was hesitant to purchase considering the price, but this thing is just pure quality. Have only used to replace the original power steering fluid so far which was extremely dirty and went through several flush cycles through the reservoir so I didn't have to take anything apart and it made the process absurdly easy, and I bet it would be the same for any other fluids.

Product is as described. Be diligent and patient, and you will get all the oil out.

Seemed like it would be kind of a pain to do an oil change this way, but happy to report it was pretty straightforward. You have to get the pump going to make that air pocket start the process, but once you get enough pressure you can take a break and hold the pump in the "up" position and hear the oil draining without you having to keep pumping. This means you don't have to pump for 5-10 minutes straight which is helpful, once you get to the end though it does take a bit more pumping as you can't create as much vaccum through the pump but eventually you'll be able to see the oil stop moving. It is VERY important/helpful to have the oil up to temperature before you do this as the oil is much more viscous, I also used a can of Liqui Moly Engine Flush which is supposed to make the oil even more viscous while removing any "extras" that are in the engine. Get the oil up to full operating temp, then put a can of the engine flush in, let run for another 10-15 minutes then extract the old oil and add in the new stuff. This also comes with a little nozzle that goes onto the outlet where the hose initially is used to extract the oil, this is to aid in putting the old oil back into the containers so another point for ease of use here.

Don't Forget To Occasionally Pump! Kinda Slow, Too
I bought this with the intention of only having to pump it a few times, and boy was I wrong, lol.
No biggie, though! With a couple of pumps every few minutes or so, I was able to extract the oil out of my car in less than an hour!
If you want speed, get an electric or air powered pump. But if you want versatility & to be completely cord free, this is perfect!
The best part? I didn't have to get on the ground. These old bones aren't as young as they used to be!
8/10 would recommend getting

WHAT AN AWESOME PRODUCT!!!! I was able to completely drain all of the oil out of my 2012 VW JETTA TDI through the dipstick tube, and through the oil filter housing!! ALL quarts were accounted for and safely sucked into the ball!! Less mess, less waste, much faster and easier, and definitely more convenient! I was also able to pour the used oil right back into the empty bottles with the spout attachment that comes with the ball, what more could you ask for!!!! Just an Awesome product!!!

Definitely simplifies the oil change process considering the belly pan does not have to be removed and there's no need to jack the car up.

Used this to drain my rear differential, which has no drain plug, and this worked perfect even with the thick gear oil. Would recommend.

First oil change went smoothly!
I really like this for a couple reasons: there are no threaded parts - the pump and the line are just a push fit to the container. This makes it easier to clean and less change of the threads being damaged after many uses. The cap does have a tendency to pop off, but not planning to keep liquids in here for long.
i had no problem extracting 10W60 oil after it was fully warmed up, and no matter how hard I pumped the container did not collapse. The line going into the oil dipstick tube seems really strong, and i could feel when it hit the bottom, it was very obvious (s54 engine), I can't see any risk of it bending upwards and getting caught in the engine

Way Better value than MityVac...
I had purchased a MityVac which is a great piece of engineering, looks impressive, better capacity; but that thing just fizzed like crazy leaking vacuum from the various hose fittings, so I returned it to the dealer and got my $$ back. Chagrined, (and not a stranger to this method of oil changes & tools and used them in fleet service years ago), I did some careful shopping, and this caught my eye and the purchase was made here. I just used it a few days ago changing the oil on our 530i and it worked fine. No vacuum leaks! Yes, extracting oil through that small tube will take longer than pulling a drain plug, but it's SO MUCH CLEANER, and on a BMW with a top-mounted oil filter, it's a no-brainer. If you do your own oil changes and are sick of the ramps, jacks, spillage, splatter and drainpans, JUST GET THIS THING! Make sure the oil (not just the engine coolant) is up to operating temperature or near that. The oil extraction will go so much better than if your oil is just warm (slow) or cold (terribly slow). Oh and this unit is about half the price of the MityVac I had to return.
