When you need a leak free seal in high temperature chemical environments

Specifically designed to perform under higher torque loads associated with engines having closely spaced bolt patterns (typically import vehicles). This product is blowout resistant, allowing leakproof gaskets to be made and put into service in just one minute. Sensor-safe, the Right Stuff® GREY seals instantly, forming a reliable, long lasting elastomeric rubber gasket that outperforms precut gaskets. Specified by major import OEMs, this material is resistant to powertrain fluids (oil, coolant, and ATF) and operates in environments to 450°F (232°C) continuous; 500°F (260°C) intermittent.

We highly recommend using "The Right Stuff" on valve covers, oil pans, transmission pans, thermostat housings, water pumps, and any other area that sees high temperatures and needs a leak free seal.

About Permatex

Permatex was founded in 1909 by Constant A. Benoit Sr. when he developed the first Permatex product which was a shellac designed to bond bicycle tires to their rims. Shortly after that in 1915, Constant attended a 24 hour endurance race in which he observed that very frequently drivers were having to return to the pit area due to blown headgaskets. Quickly Benoit saw an opportunity to apply some of his experimental gasket compound to a vehicle in which it then ran the rest of the 24 hour race without any issues! The rest is history. Today the company is partnered with ITW (Illinois Tool Company) and has recently celebrated their 100 year anniversary in 2009.
