Product Information

Used when you need a leak free and permanent seal

Make leak-proof gaskets and return equipment to service immediately! Permatex' premier instant gasket maker was designed as a replacement for conventional gaskets. This elastomeric "formed-in-place"material is more reliable and longer lasting than pre-cut gaskets. It is blowout resistant and protects against leaks and seepage caused by vibration and thermal expansion. Formulated to meet or exceed performance standards for long-term sealability, durability and handling, this material is used on OEM production lines and specified in their service parts programs. Temperature range -75 F to 450 F (-59 C to 232 C) continuous, 500 F (260 C) intermittent; resists ATF, coolant, oil and other shop fluids. Sensor-safe.

We highly recommend using "The Right Stuff" for automotive and marine gaskets, valve covers, gearbox covers, pumps, compressors, oil pants, thermostat housings, and water pumps.

About Permatex

Permatex was founded in 1909 by Constant A. Benoit Sr. when he developed the first Permatex product which was a shellac designed to bond bicycle tires to their rims. Shortly after that in 1915, Constant attended a 24 hour endurance race in which he observed that very frequently drivers were having to return to the pit area due to blown headgaskets. Quickly Benoit saw an opportunity to apply some of his experimental gasket compound to a vehicle in which it then ran the rest of the 24 hour race without any issues! The rest is history. Today the company is partnered with ITW (Illinois Tool Company) and has recently celebrated their 100 year anniversary in 2009. The company is known for excellence with over 350 products, and produces nearly 1,200 SKUs in several markets to include automotive, marine, heavy duty, and off highway.

Permatex “the right stuff” RTV silicone
It may seem hubris to name your product “the right stuff” but please let me tell you that they did so for a reason. I came across it in a shop I worked in as a mechanic. It is by far the fastest curing and best long term RTV I have ever used. 100% satisfaction every time. I feel like this price is almost twice as high as you can find it in some parts stores so I suggest shopping around for this one. Can’t say that about any BMW parts though!
