A solid upgrade option over OE cooling fans

This fan can be used as an upgrade to the OEM fan for more efficient cooling or fitment issues with aftermarket products. With its slim design, the fan can easily be installed flush against a radiator. For universal installation, use Mishimoto universal fan mount kit. (P/N: MMFAN-MOUNT)

Engine Cooling Fan Motor

The Engine Cooling Fan Assembly is a crucial component of a vehicle’s cooling system. It consists of an electric or mechanical fan, shroud, motor, and related wiring or clutch mechanism. Its main role is to pull or push air through the radiator to regulate coolant temperature, especially when the vehicle is idling or moving at low speeds where natural airflow is limited.

It says High flow but then it also says the CFM is only like 1800. An OE fan’s CFM is closer to 2,600 on a volvo 940. Are there any fans here closer to that CFM?

We do not currently list a universal electric fan closer to the ~2600 CFM OE Volvo 940 output. For a 940, the better option is keeping the OE-style mechanical fan/shroud setup and using the Aisin tropical fan clutch, FCP SKU AIS-1357433 / Volvo OE 1357433, which helps because it engages the mechanical fan more aggressively and moves more air through the radiator at low vehicle speeds.

Will this work as a drop in for 2001 Jaguar S-Type, 4.0L V8? Note original fan controlled by fan module, don't know if it is single speed. Also, will this cage fit inside the existing radiator fan shroud, what is depth and outside diameter of unit?

This is a universal product and is not a direct fit installation part. This part will only fit/work with modification to the vehicle including the installation of a fan controller. Our recommendation is to not use this fan in place of the OE fan assembly. The dimensions available from Mishimoto indicate 16.75" housing dia., 73mm deep. The fan requires the use of their fan bracket.

These are 1850 CFM fans, high flow. Would not work on a factory module as these are not variable speed. Strictly on/off operation.

There is no one specific way to wire this fan in. Generally speaking the best option is to use a fan controller for this fan such as MMFANCNTLU18NPT which includes wiring and the ability to custom install the fan with different wiring options. This is a universal product and will require custom wiring/mounting to function correctly.

This is a universal fan. In terma of size it will fit. However, it will need to be mounted eother through a custom mount or mounted directly to the radiator with a universal mounting kit. It will also require an aftermarket fan controller to get the most out of it.
