About Motive Products

Founded in 1998 by Matt Newman, Motive was born when Matt was in the middle of a clutch job on his BMW. He came to the realization that there really wasn't an affordable good tool out there that would allow him to bleed the system himself. He saw the need for the do-it-yourselfer's out there and was determined to make a design for a product that was high quality, affordable, and easy to use. For over 18 years, Motive's power bleeder has now been used by DIYer's, enthusiasts, shops, and even race teams! Today Motive has new owners. Matt sold the business in 2008 to a couple of enthusiasts, Eric Leicher, and Marc Romani, which relocated the business from Oakland CA, to Gilroy, CA. The new owners are just as enthusiastic as Matt was and continuously look to create new products for the community.

Questions & Answers

Ask a question
Question Posted by Yang
What do you guys typically do with this once you've finished the brake bleeding job? Are you supposed to take it apart and rinse it out or do you just dump out whatever extra fluid you have and leave it there?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
The power bleeder should be cleaned after use. It's not a good idea to leave brake fluid sitting in the bleeder long term. The power bleeder can be cleaned using denatured alcohol.
