Product Information

Sachs brand is an adjustable ride height strut and requires the installer to first measure the height of the lower spring plate to the lower mounting hole before disassembly. Then simply moving the circlip located under the lower spring perch of the new strut to one of 11 different ride height settings for the perfect match.

Suspension Shock Absorber Assembly Kit

A shock absorber kit is a set of replacement components designed to restore a vehicle's suspension system. It typically includes shock absorbers along with essential parts like mounting hardware and seals. These components work together to dampen the suspension by controlling the rebounding motion of the springs. Signs of a failing shock absorber include a bouncy ride, excessive body roll during cornering, nose-diving when braking, uneven tire wear, and sometimes visible fluid leaks from the shock.

Suspension Shock Absorber Assembly Kit Failure Symptoms
  • Bouncy ride: The most noticeable sign, where the car continues to bounce excessively after hitting a bump
  • Nose dive when braking: The front end of the car dips significantly when applying the brakes
  • Excessive body roll in corners: The car leans excessively when turning, feeling unstable
  • Uneven tire wear: Irregular wear patterns on the tires, often with cupping or scalloping due to inconsistent contact with the road

About Sachs

ZF Sachs AG, also known as Fichtel & Sachs was founded in Schweinfurt in 1895 and was a well-known German family business. At its last point as an independent company, the company name was Fichtel & Sachs AG. In 1997, the automotive supplier was taken over by Mannesmann and renamed Mannesmann Sachs AG. As of 2001, Sachs belonged to ZF Friedrichshafen as a subsidiary company ZF Sachs AG. In 2011, ZF Sachs, like other Group subsidiaries, was legally merged with ZF Friedrichshafen AG and the independent business units integrated into the ZF divisions. Sachs has since become a brand of ZF Friedrichshafen AG.

Sachs is a trusted brand of the ZF family, which includes Lemforder, TRW, Boge, Stabilus, ZF parts and Sachs Performance. All divisions are well respected within their automotive specialty as they are all OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) to car brands like Audi, Porsche, BMW, Volvo and more. Sachs specializes in shock absorbers, struts and clutches, with FCP Euro stocking many solutions based on your needs, be it an OE replacement or a higher performance clutch, shock or strut. All Sachs parts are built to meet or exceed the OEM specifications, this provides confidence and value when choosing Sachs over a Genuine part.

Questions & Answers

Ask a question
Question Posted by Robert
Is this kit compatible with lowering springs such as the H&R Sport Springs #293242, and if so, how does the valving and rod length on these shocks compare to the Bilstein B8?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
These will be similar in length to the original shocks, the valving on the Bilstein B8 series will provide a firmer and more sport oriented ride. These shocks can be used with H&R Sport Springs #293242.
Question Posted by a customer
I purchased these and installed before the update to the product page and my front is way to high. Is it possible to adjust with the spring in the assembly? Or do I need to remove the spring adjust and reinstall? Also is it possible with the kit installed in the car?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
It is best to do this with the struts removed from the vehicle, but you can usually get away with doing it while mounted as well. Move the circlip located under the lower spring perch of the new strut to one of 11 different ride height settings for your desired height.
Question Posted by a customer
Will this replace OE part A 211 320 22 38?
Answer (Posted by FCP Euro Products Team)
That part number is not a cross-reference for this kit.
