About Lisle

Founded in 1903, C.A. Lisle started the company with the first product being horse-powered water well drilling machines. On the off season to the well drilling business, they manufactured washing machines, cream separators, and push-type reel lawn mowers. In the mid-20s, Lisle Corporation made its first automotive product, a master ignition vibrator for Ford Model T vehicles. The first Lisle tool, a valve refacer, fast became a repair shop must since valves were reground every 20,000 miles at that time. In the 1930's they also manufactured magnetic oil drain plugs that were used in WWII for military equipment resulting in the Army/Navy E Award for manufacturing excellence in supporting the war effort. In the 1950's after the war, the automotive aftermarket boomed and demand for specialty automotive tools increased. It was then that the Lisle Corporation made the decision to grow the company by introducing new tools that could be made in the company's own factory, thereby controlling quality, delivery and costs. Today the company's tool line consists of more than 400 products of which most are produced at the original location, now expanded, in Clarinda, Iowa.

Perfect thread chaser for M113 engine sparkies
Used this to clean the threads before I put new sparkies in. I found that a good spray of WD40 on the chaser left a good pool of fluid in the 3 swarf channels that picked up and retained all the fine carbon grime. Threading the tap into the head squarly by hand is easy with the tapered end Goes most of the way by hand that shows no cross threading happening and final finish with light fingers on the ratchet head. New plugs all went in smoothly by hand right up to the end then 1/4 turn to lock them up. Did not use any anti seize on the plugs as the first time I changed them several years ago the plugs "anti seize paste" had acted more like glue. Bosch plugs are supposes to be coated in a metal that doesn't bind in alloy heads as well as no grease on the threads might give the plugs a better electrical ground that seems to be the opinion of many people. We will see!

Insured ready installation and removal for years to come.
It's great to way to keep carbon off the spark plug threads, and avoid seizing.
