Product Information

This kit includes 8 liters of Aisin JWS 3324 WS spec fluid which is required for 2 drain and fill on your Land Rover Aisin TF80 (AW21). Total transmission capacity is 7l, each drain will remove around 3.5l. This enough to mix and replace a substantial amount of the existing oil in your transmission. For a more complete service, add an additional 4l for an extra drain and fill.

There is a specific procedure to do this service correctly, failing to follow it correctly may result in transmission damage. Final fluid level should be set while the transmission temperature is warm (50-60C) with engine running on a level surface. An electronic TCM reset is highly recommended after the oil change, especially if it has been awhile since the last service.

Transmission Service Kit

The transmission oil filter prevents harmful particulate matter from entering the transmission valve body and damaging valve body bores, solenoids, and other fluid passages. Foreign particles in valve body bores, solenoids, or passages will cause shifting issues. Some of these issues include delayed shifts, harsh shifts, or no gear engagement in extreme cases. Clogged filters can reduce fluid volume and flow in the transmission causing starvation of the transmission pump. This can be identified by an RPM-dependent whine from the transmission bell housing area. The transmission oil filter should be changed during any fluid service, and it is critical to replace the filter if major transmission components are replaced such as the torque converter, transmission pump, or transmission valve body.
